News feed from Technical Help for Rover 75 and MG ZT

Hello all,

Could someone give me a steer please as to where this part fits? I am sure its part of the exhaust system and sits against the car bulkhead somewhere to stop it turning when screwing in/out a bolt. For the life of me I cannot work out where it goes. Its from a KV6 car.

Hi there. I am hoping someone may be able to shed some light on an issue I am having trying to replace the dipstick tube connector on my 2004 ZT with KV6 engine.
Rimmers list only one part number for the item, ( part number LYC 100510) which I purchased but was not suitable as the hole in the collar is not large enough for the tube to pass through. DMGRS stock the same part ...

I bought my latest 75 at the beginning of the year after doing all the necessary checks and asking all the right questions. It's a beautiful version - a 2003 Connoisseur Se Cdti - but after sale some undisclosed faults appeared and I referred to AA Mediation, about two months ago. It wasn't bought from AA Cars but from a seller who relied on AA Standards. The seller has finally agreed to consider a written ...

A good day to all!

I am at the point where I am now ready to refit my KV6 Engine back into the car - Hoorah.

Before I do I am trying to locate plug locations for ease of fitting once the engine is in, at the moment I am struggling to find the plug for the downstream oxygen sensor within the wiring loom.

So far I have identified one connector on the front right ...

I have a s/h working alternator from a Rover 75 CDTi classic saloon (low spec but that worked well) but not sure if this alternator is good enough to fit on my present CDTi because I am not sure if the slip rings are too worn or discoloured? From searching the web the copper slip rings should not be discoloured. If so there is no point in me changing the regulator which includes new brushes? ...

Please see the two photos. I wasn't happy with charging meter readings and then the battery light came on during a long trip with a meter reading at the battery of 11.99 volts with the engine running.

I now have the alternator loose in the engine bay resting on top of a loose air con compressor. And so I managed to unplug the wiring harness and found as the two photos.

The wiring harness to ...

Artic thinks Duncan is the man in the know for this.

I have an early Facelift Tourer and a late Facelift tourer.
It could be T4 programming.

Late Tourer, 1 short click, only drivers door unlocks, second click, all doors and tail gate unlock. 1 long click and drivers door and tail gate unlock.

Hello all - I find myself in need of some advice please.

I need to change the oil filter housing on my KV6 due to a crack where one of the oil pipes connects. The engine is out and I have a spare engine i bought for spares.

My problem at the moment is how do you pull the crankshaft sprocket off, is there a special or preferred tool? Space is tight behind the sprocket ...

My battery light came on and stayed on and so I will take my alternator off. With little room I am looking carefully at each bolt first. I will take off the steering pump and nearby top engine mount. But what about the rear bottom engine mount? Does that help stabilise when the top mount is taken off and the engine is jacked up high on the drives side? Or is it easier with the ...
