Crank pulley removal by Ed3

Does the crank pulley bolt need to be heated? If so how is this done if it is a good pulley that will be used as a spare?

A friend has used a Clarke CEW1100 3/4 drive corded impact wrench on the 22mm crank pulley bolt with the flywheel jammed by a tool at the flywheel. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clarke- ... gICvvD_BwE

The crank was securely locked by the tool there was no pulley movement. The 22mm impact socket got hot but the bolt would not undo. The crank pulley bolt has had lots of penetrating oil. This is the more powerful 710nm 3/4 drive impact wrench and corded so that power was enough. Does he just keep trying? or are there any other tips?

Use the proper crank pulley holding tool, and a long bar with added steel tubing, it will turn have no doubt.
