Does anybody have experience of these and are they any good? I have seen one advert for a chap that rebuilds them in his shed and has a good website Roverkseries.com but is it just hype. I have bought a lovely car but the engine has been ruined and I didn't spot it. So I either scrap it or go the whole reconditioning route. I reckon that with all the faults the car will cost ...

Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I have a 1.8 turbo petrol Connoisseur SE on an 03 plate which I have owned for about 14 months. During the last month on several occasions the temperature gauge has dropped to cold without warning. When this happens the cooling fan is on constantly and curiously the radiator expansion tank is cold. I can remove the top and there doesn't seem to be any pressure. If I turn ...

I have seen a lot of posts and have been searching the internet for some answers –
My 2003 1.8 Turbo 75 has had a few issues recently –
1. Turbo pipe came off – easy fix cable tie and refitted pipe – it had been miss firing badly and in fact totally destroyed my inlet manifold on acceleration the other week (good old girl still got me home for the last 26 miles though) ...

I have been trying to find the input to the IPK that turns on the low coolant light, it's on the top row, right side on a non message centre IPK. I can get it to light by selecting the test mode but can't find any reference to it on my wiring diagrams. Taking the IPK apart it is driven from a high power shift register so it isn't driven directly, it must be via ...

Anyone know where I can find a new turbo and a new exhaust manifold for my 1.8T? Looked on Rimmer Bros and the price of the turbo is astronomical, nigh on twice what I paid for the car, so I'm looking elsewhere. Also, I need a new exhaust manifold, as mine has given up the ghost. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Just looking for some advice. A friend of mine has an MG ZR with the 1.8 K series in it. And it's having trouble starting. When you turn the key, you can hear the fuel pump priming and everything getting ready, but the starter doesn't turn. If you hold the key round, it will eventually turn the engine over, and the engine starts absolutely fine. I've checked all the connections and there's nothing obvious there. ...

Is the cruise control gubbins specific to each engine? I've been looking for bits on ebay and I keep finding bits that are listed for the Kv6 and the CDTi but I can't find any bits for the 1.8. And would it depends on whether the 1.8 is a T or not? Also would love it if someone could help me fit it... :P At some point ...

Hello all, I'm a Newbie! I have a Rover 75 1.8 Petrol '05 model. Initially the drivers side door failed to open using the central locking system, and I had to revert to using the key to gain access. Since then about two weeks ago, the car suddenly stopped cranking the engine, whilst cold or hot. (A new battery was put in last November and the battery is still in top condition.) So, three times ...

Hello all, I bought a 54 plate 75 with a shot headgasket ( or so I thought), the car started and ran very smoothly but clouds of steam/light grey smoke from the exhaust that disappeared after a few minutes of running, and so I got the car home and started to strip it. When I got to lining up timing marks as per the book, I found that when the timing marks are lined up ...
