About three months ago, one of the dogs managed to knock my laptop on the floor. It still worked, but there was a crack bottom right, which I soon got used to.

About a month ago, Gill was vacuuming, it was charging, the vacuum caught the cable and... once more on the floor! Again, still worked, but this time there was a crack going from bottom left, up to the middle, and then down to ...

Hi folks

Both Gill and I have Samsung S8 smartphones

Last week Gill's updated to Android Pie. She hates it! It's made loads of changes she didn't want or need, and I've also read a lot of bad reviews for it... :(

I very seldom use the Internet on my phone, but today Gill needed to look at something in a text message link, which had come ...

Please can anybody recommend a reliable web / e-mail hosting service?

I'm with Servage at the moment and their reliability is abysmal.

Thanks :)

I've been using W10 for around 12 months or so now, since my Vista laptop died last year

One thing I miss is my old CD database which was constructed using Superbase. This worked for me on Windows 95, XP and then Vista, but won't on my current W10 machine, something to do with the old ones being 32 bit and this one 64 bit

I think it will work on a virtual machine environment ...

Yesterday a screw up on moving money from one bank account to another, got kicked out, input the wrong password a couple of times and a call from the fraud department concerned there was something dodgy happening on the account.

Today I have started making a list of those sites that I need a password for EEK and it will only get worse.

Perhaps a Password Manager would help - currently use Norton for security ...

Hi all, just bought a new LED monitor for my PC. Now it has arrived it says on the box that it is an LCD screen with LED backlighting.

I hadn't understood at the time of purchase that it wasn't a straight LED screen.

Now it is up and running, it looks RUBBISH :(

The colours at the bottom are too washed out, or those at the ...

Afternoon folks

I've fairly recently had to replace my aged laptop. Basically it was getting very hot, so had a stab at taking it apart to clean the crud from it's internals, made a bit of a fist of it and when putting it back together, damaged the keyboard connection. I did manage to get a fix sorted (with a piece of thin plastic and parcel tape!) so was able to get the majority of ...
