My local Sainsbury's garage has a sign outside saying,

'No Diesel
No Super Unleaded'.

When the car electrics play up in various ways from parasitic drain to water ingress we face needing to disconnect the battery often while risking the bonnet opening release going wrong. If the alarm, wipers or whatever will not switch off at the same time the bonnet release plays up it all may feel a bit of an unwelcome challenge. So I am wondering about a battery isolator located hidden on the exterior or the ...

I ran the engine for a while the other day to bleed the coolant.

The radiator hoses did not get hot with heat only present on the outlet pipes from the engine.
There was no heat from the heater and the temperature gauge was between the 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock.

From what I have read it seems that the thermostat has stuck in the closed position, so I intend to replace it.

Do I ...

Hi, My 1999 Rover is over reading it's fuel level on the gauge and will show appx 1/4 tank despite actually being empty. I've checked the fuel levels via the dash which reported _ _ 0 2 8 7. Can anyone advise why there'd be no reading on the left hand side of the tank? Even with a faulty / stuck level sensor I would have expected some sort of reading. Many thanks in advance ...

Hi all, My 1999 75 is suffering from a parasitic battery drain which appears to be coming from the BCU. After letting the car 'go to sleep' I have a 100ma battery drain - the only fuse with any drain across it is #5 which according to my manual only feeds the BCU. Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm wondering if it's likely to be the BCU that's faulty or an input to ...

I've just acquired a lovely 2003 diesel Connoisseur but it has a few quirks, not least the alarm going off ar 4am this morning! I understand that locking the door with the key rather than remotely will prevent this happening again. Is this correct, please?

I have an immaculate Rover 75/ZT garage manual. Not to be confused with the Haynes publications.
This is Rover MG publication. Its so much better than the Haynes books.
£35.

Has anyone tips or experience for sealing body panel joins and specifically the side panel to roof join as here:-

I placed a tarp on a roof rack and that stopped the rain getting into the car during the last 24 hours of heaviest rain. IN the weeks since I have had this car I notice more moisture high up in the drivers side rear D pillar between ...

On a recently acquired facelift CDTi saloon the rear passenger side door window regulator has failed. But after taking out the screw in the handle that opens the door (from the inside), I cant see what other screws hold the door card on?
