Exchanging Insurance Details by Bermudan 75

Janet caught the side of a car that had parked behind her as she reversed out of an access road. The car she caught had parked partially across Janet's exit point at an angle of 45 degrees.

Janet gave her details to the other driver but was not given any details by the other driver.

Where does Janet stand on this? Both cars suffered very minor damage.

Cheers

Mike

As long as you have the third parties registration number, your insurance company will track their insurance company, as that is with whom they will deal not the car owner. That is providing they are insured.
Best thing to do IMHO is contact your insurers with all the details. You could just let it go only to find the other party has made a claim against you for any amount of damage, whiplash etc.

Janet but did not get the details of the other driver and failed to make a note of the car registration number. The other driver suggested that they should sort it out without going through the insurance companies.
