Relocation and insurance by PaulT

With our move I telephoned my insurance company (M&S) to tell them that I was moving from Surrey to Lincolnshire and was delighted to be told that my premium would go down by a third.

Yve phoned hers to be told that there was no difference in premium – think there is One Call that she will not be making when it comes up for renewal.

It SHOULD be considerably cheaper over here....the crime rate is very very low and the number of accidents per head is low too. You just have to watch out for the dykes....er, yes, BOTH types! :D

As Carl says, should be cheaper.

Interesting how it goes on postcode though. Ours is a Nottingham postcode, although we are in Sleaford (nicely in the heart of Lincolnshire) which is 35 miles (crow flies) from Nottingham. Peterborough is marginally nearer (29 miles) and IIRC would mean a slightly lower premium. Lincoln is much nearer at 15 miles and would be a lot cheaper. Guessing Carl will have a Peterborough postcode, even though he'll be nearer to Lincoln too!

Out of interest, where in Lincolnshire are you moving to?
