17 months and out in half that if he behaves. Doesn't seem enough to me. Cyclist could have died instantly. :(

Good to see that right at the end of the clip the car behind pulled in to help the cyclist. I get the impression that the bus might have driven right off.....

Attempted murder is THE most difficult crime to prosecute.

Imagine how you would prove, beyond reasonable doubt, that an individual intended to murder somebody rather than injure them.

I don't just mean "gut feeling", intuition, probability etc.

The upshot of which, is that such a charge is rarely used as the principle of double jeopardy needs to be considered.

Proving an offence is always easier than proving an attempt, unfortunately.

I voice no opinion as to the subject incident :lol:

I thought the Double Jeopardy law was changed after the Stephen Lawrence trials? ? Or did that just relate to new evidence?
