the "seal" for coolant drain plug on engine block by Ed3

Ed3
I am wanting to renew the coolant asap and I just noticed on the Haynes Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0-uuJk7Rk0 that the coolant drain plug has a seal that Haynes say should be replaced

But Rimmer Bros https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001585 does not list the existence of a seal so I cant know before I start what size seal to get. I assume I have to risk the old one? Or do I buy an oil plug seal? Any suggestions?

Hi Ed.
The coolant drain plug should be an alloy one and most likely reusable, but if you just remove the bottom hose and then flush the engine out with cold water that should do the job, being a diesel i would give it a run get the stat open then remove the bottom hose, making sure your hands are out of the way, as the coolant will be hot, remember to have the heater switch to the hot position, if after your refill and the engine is not getting up to temp take it for a drive using the OBD (On Board Diagnostics) 19 then 7 if it gets to 90 plus open the heater on full while driving that will circulate the coolant and stop any air in the system.
