Holiday in Devon by raistlin

We're off to Devon for a week at the end of the month but not going to our usual location so would appreciate a bit of advice please:-

We will be at a place called Kentisbeare, wonderfully secluded, but, as a result, requiring the use of the car to get anywhere I expect.

A "must do" is the Paignton Dartmouth railway so can anybody tell me what parking is like in Paignton in the first week of September, closest to the railway please?

Also, can anybody tell me the availability of public transport in the area of Kentisbeare please? We intend to sample the local brews which precludes the use of the car

Any opinions appreciated - thanks :)
