The handbook says the Oil capacity for my 2.5 V6 is 5.2 Litre but how much actually drains out on oil – filter change as I use a 5 Litre can with the side cut out to drain into!
I use one of the Oil Bowls with drainer tube you can purchase cheaply from motor factors.
Then just pour the oil back in containers for disposal.
The Diesel seems to give most oil back if run first and then left to drain, very little kept in oil filter,
presume similar on the petrol models?
