Arden Green Bonnet by Duncan (Page 1 of 2)

Something odd has happened to my bonnet and the lacquer has started to soften and peel. It looks like brake fluid damage but I can't see how and only the bonnet is affected. If it is brake fluid, I'd be worried about repainting and it doing the same.

So anyone know of an Arden Green Bonnet in good condition and Midlands way? No rush as I tend not to use it much in Winter and the front tyres need replacing anyway. I could be persuaded to take a drivers door, and rear bumper (Cowley) if better than mine and cheap enough.

I would normally suggest Middlewich Rover Breakers, but I went there last year and they appear to have moved.

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt

Thanks for the offer, Rob. Not sure how I'd contact anyone though as I still stay clear.

I'm still looking though. Its not brake fluid, just the lacquer layer having failed. I've been instructed today to sort it as someone has decided they really like the car again. I suppose I should look again at having it repainted.

Duncan, I have found that this seller does not always have everything he has on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/staffs-used-car-parts

might be worth contacting and a nice helpful chap...and a 2nd hand bonnet will bee a lot cheaper than having one painted.

Thanks Paul. Close to me too so worth a try. Robe (Trebor) has found a couple of leads too but they seem to want a lot for a bonnet.

Duncan, I bought an excellent Firefrost bonnet from this chap to replace mine that had been really dented in a hail storm with hail, literally, the size of cricker balls for £50. He helped me fit it so that I could then put the old one on the roof.

This: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-02-REG-R ... Sw-KFXdPkx

looks a lot like Arden green. Seller lists it as BRG though. Needs the paint code checking. I've emailed and texted but don't expect a response. Anyone know the car?

No problem. I'm happy for any help. Most likely I'm going to get it repainted as the prices being asked seem steep because they know its unusual. However I'll keep looking for the next couple of weeks.

Thanks everyone who is searching for me.

Thanks Steve. I might be buying it. Typically, Ive agreed to have the bonnet and wing repainted but I still need to sort quite a few things and this may fix many of them.
