As titled - I'm struggling to get something to work to remove this plastic nut, due to the shape of the nut and surrounding fuel filler pocket, I find that what I try is either too big or too wide or doesn't grip properly etc - I'm stumped by a plastic nut!

Any suggestions greatly appreciated - I have changed the cambelts, camshafts and tappets on a KV6 but as my brain is currently mush due to chronic illness I am being defeated by this little thing!

first remove the rubber outer ring, with that removed you can undo the plastic hexagonal nut with long nosed pliers gently, have read Rob (trebor) how on the fuel flap solenoid

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply - I finally got around to doing this yesterday. I couldn't find the largest long nose pliers but I did find a bigger pair than I tried before and they just about worked - it was quite tight though and needed a surprising amount of force. The pliers did mark the nut a bit but not majorly, and it's underneath the rubber buffer anyway. All sorted
