The last two RAF VC10s will be flown to their respective resting places tomorrow 24th September and Wednesday 25th September. The last Super VC10 to be built at Brooklands ZA150 is being retired to Dunsfold to join the Brooklands Museum tomorrow.

The final flight of the VC10 will take place on Wednesday when ZA147 is flown to Bruntingthorpe airfield.

Cheers

Drats I would have taken some leave to see that at Dunsfold,we still have a few guys who worked on them at work. One of the two best looking airliners ever and both built (well the other one in part) at Weybridge.I can still remember hearing the VC10 ground runs at Wisley, whilst living in Woking.
BEAUTIFUL.............

Certainly a beautiful aeroplane Peter. Perfect proportions compared to the baleen whale shapes produced by Boeing.

Mind you... my opinion oughtn't to be given much creedence. After all, I think Nimrod is a beautiful aricraft

Ref the Nimrod,we are now working the 787,when it first visited I told one of the Boeing reps it looked just like a Nimrod if you catch the nose just right.........he was really miffed :-).I asked if this plastic aeroplane would last as long as the Nimrod....................
