Speaker location by raistlin

I'm in the process of planning my SmartNav installation and I'm a bit unsure as to the best place to fit the speaker.

It is a cuboid shape roughly 100 x 50 x 50mm and clearly cannot be buried in the car as it needs to be audible.

I was going to fit it under the steering column but there isn't room under the trim panel.

Any suggestions for location please?
Paul

There's a speaker mounting position in the drivers footwell, used for the nav in lowline nav, used for the phone with hiline nav. It's a Range Rover 38a midrange that fits and I may have one since I bought a set from ebay.

This is the one, in case you need it fast:

I'm sure I have one, I'm not sure quite where.

is the bracket it fits to, but you already have this. You can see the large round hole, and just make out the clips on the underside. This is shown upside down compared to the car, so the clips are on top and the speaker points down. Looking at Rimmerbros, its also the official smartnav speaker and location.

Another alternative would be to go round to Lyndons, distract him, and prise one out of his RR.

Just out of interest I looked up the lowline page at Rimmer Bros:

Look at items 1 and 2 - how do they come up with those prices!

Ok. I've bought it Duncan. Rob did say at the Nano that his was located there but I couldn't see how the SmartNav item supplied with mine would fit.

That would be great thanks Steve. The one from fleabay is going to take ages to get here so yes please. Any time you like mate :)

When the fleabay one eventually arrives I can let you have it or put it in my own bits box in case somebody else wants one in the future :)
