The data centre where our server resides is deploying some security patches. Which may point to the slow website. Should clear u relatively soon.

Dear Customer,

As part of our continuous security operations, we are deploying a mandatory security patch on our Public Cloud services (VPS and instances).

This action is preventive and controlled. The patch has already been tested, and our teams are overseeing the deployment progressively across our infrastructure.

There will be a service interruption lasting less than 30 minutes during the intervention affecting the concerned Public Cloud Instances and VPS.

Important information:
2 Virtual machines within the same PCI project that would be hosted on different physical hypervisors will not be restarted at the same time.
All Public Cloud API will remain available during the operation.
We remain committed to maintaining a secure, reliable, and transparent infrastructure for our customers.

Hi Mick and thanks for your response. The site was ok for me early yesterday morning then from about the hour before midday it became a hill of difficulty to get it to load. The posts I've managed to make since have not been easy as I've had to make multiple attempts to get the site to load to make them and the problem is still evident today at ~ 08.33. So it is approaching 24hrs since the site was last working ok for me which is a little more than what those working on the patch might be aware of. Maybe something else is going on too that could be adding to the problem so I post about this to give feedback in case it might be of some help. When I first tried the site this morning it failed to load and displayed the following message which is different to what I've received before re the Apache problem:

"Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to http://www.75ztcommunity.co.uk. SSL received a malformed Server Hello handshake message. (Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_MALFORMED_SERVER_HELLO)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I've not had any connection failures. (Not to say there have been at times I have not tried.) Currently things are still running much more slowly than I would find acceptable., but, pages do load eventually. If things don't improve soon, I will raise a ticket with the OVH and see if there is anything they can do to resolve the issue.

Bingo! Just tried again after getting home from a trip into town and the site is back to normal and working ok for me now at 13.17.

Certainly is . Must have been the patch installs. Which have now, according to another flag been completed.

Good to see that all seems well again with the site. On reflection the site's feedback area is best suited for posts relating to the site so a bit of moving and cleaning to keep the threads and the site in order might not go amiss. I should have known better but in my defence I've yet to venture out to many areas of the site so lack familiarity with the layout. My post, 407, could be deleted. I tried to submit it during the go-slow and thought that my attempt had timed out so tried again with post 408. Only noticed what had happened and that both posts had appeared when I subsequently managed to get the site to load.

Hope everyone is keeping well. I've not been on much in recent weeks while making use of the good weather to try to catch up with some DIY that has been backing up for some time. Managed to fit new hinges to the side-opener on the kitchen window which resulted in it catching and not closing and I had to remove some of the locking parts to get it to close on the day. I know what the problem is courtesy of the internet which I did not have when I fitted the window myself ~ 2004. The glazing unit in a side-opener must be fitted in a certain way to ensure that its weight transfers to the hinge side of the window otherwise over time the frame will likely drop on the handle side and result in the problem I've encountered. There was evidence of this happening before I replaced the hinges but the window still closed albeit with a little catching, the method of fitting the glass to prevent or cure this problem is called toe and heeling. I made a start on it using some packers that I made from some leftover plastic from our facia replacement of some years a go but darkness befell before completion and the rain we have had recently has subsequently stopped play.

Don't you just love DIY (read hate) always something you never planned for occurs. As a final part of bathroom renovation for my son (We have now moved on to the basement where we are learning how to install plasterboard walls and a wooden floor over a solid one) they decided they wanted the bathroom door to open the other way. would be great if door frames were square! mark twice, cut once, mark twice again cut once, swear profusely mark twice cut once, throw door in bin, purchase new door.

Yes Dave, DIY does not always go to plan but you do get to solve any problems that present. What really annoys me is when you discover a problem that has been left for you to suffer and fix by someone you have paid to do a job who might well have created if not noticed the problem. Fear of the services of Bodgit & Scarper is what drives me to the DIY route.

Dave it's a nightmare to fit new doors to old frames, you have to scribe them, even then they don't always work out how you wanted, the best way is to rip out the old frame and add new from which you can make sure is square and the door hanging becomes much better if not perfect, regarding the walls are you dabbing plater boards to walls with adhesive for dry lining, if walls are bare brick you need to SBR the walls first, if painted they will need scrabbling then SBR or Feb bonded, before adding the plasterboards' keep the bottom of the boards at least an inch off the floor to stop rising damp.

Flooring over the solid floor, add self levelling compound mix and use rubber squidgy to push it all over the floor it will fine it's own level once set you can then decide what you are going to use under the flooring green base boards are best has they give a better feel under finished wood or laminated floor.

You of cause go for tiles use same method for levelling, then tile after working out your tile pattern.
