It now seems that we in the UK can no longer access Imgur they have decide to block us due to the new rules.

Linked to the UK’s new Online Safety Act (OSA) and ongoing investigations by regulators. The OSA is meant to protect minors from harmful content by verifying users’ identities.

https://cybernews.com/uk/how-to-use-...to-unblock-it/

So all those including my thread and post which used Imgur to post up photos you can no longer see them rendering the how to useless.

Looks like trying to find another image hosting site to post up photo's

What are other using so this can not happen in the future. ?

What about creating your 'How To' documents as PDF files? Immune from Photo hosting bandits.

Hi Mike.
Ive never thought about that and would need to look into to it, ie how does it work etc is it time consuming etc.

Fairly easy really.
Create the How To in say Word, just as you would normally inserting the images from your computer.
Then either Save As ...select pdf format
Or
Print to pdf printer

As Steve says, it is straight forward enough.

In Word you could create a template where you could insert your photographs. Text could then be inserted between the photographs.

I think I did a How To using that format.

I have started to use imageBB which is simple to use, available on desktop and app, found out that IMGUR have withdrawn from the UK following the Information Commissioner taking them to task about how they are handling under age data and threatened a fine

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt

HI Rob.
Happened about two months or more it as registered all the how to's more or less useless every single photo you have posted are now blank, but you can get to them so I'm informed by using a VPN yet to try.

I am now using https://freeimage.host/

simple and very fast to upload and down load photos even if you do 50 at a time.

samples below.

Hi Rob.
Yes i can see all your photos on here which you used Imgur for with Opera.

If you download and install Opera web browser:

https://www.opera.com/opera

You will see a blue VPN button on the top bar, click this and then press the big ON button, you should then be able to see the photos in any of the HOW TO listings. Furthermore, you can FILE - Page - Save as PDF. This means you can keep a local copy on your PC with the photos included regardless of what happens in future with hosting sites!

Example uploaded of the sunroof drains solution. Remember to cut the duck bill exit tubes under each wheel arch! Photos also attached.
