Drivers Seat Removal - 2 blue air bag wires - no plug? by Ed3

On a facelift 04 CDTi Connoisseur SE Saloon I am trying to take the drivers electric seat out to dry the carpet during our warm weather.

As photo attached there are two blue wires coming from the main wiring loom to the seat and to the o/s rear of the seat and I guess to the side air bag in the seat. But I cant see a plug to disconnect those wires.

I have disconnected the main seat wiring plug and also the small yellow two wire SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) plug. But I cant find how to disconnect the 2 blue wires.

Also would anyone know if I can temporarily refit the manual seat from my other Rover 75 facelift. Because the electric leather seats look as if they need some leather care to stop them cracking.

After removing tape it looks like a previous owner has soldered the side air bag wires (blue) into red wires that would otherwise go into one of the yellow plugs. Presumably to stop the usual fault of the SRS light coming on at the dashboard. I suppose the leads will need to be cut and soldered back together.

I'd say they are heat sealed crimp splices, but essentially the same thing. Be very careful when you cut the wires, as you will be missing the shorting link that protects against accidental detonation from static discharge or similar. Cleaning the original terminals with gold contact cleaner is a much better and safer bet than stuff like this.
