Here you go, a cheap key for your car

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rover-75-Blank-Ke ... 4150cd83a7

No they won't start the car, but if you lock your keys in the boot, you won't swear because you can't retrieve them!!

I bought 2 of these a while back and got them cut at Timpsons in Truro, who didn't charge me, so for £7.98 each delivered, they really are cheap spare keys!! ;)

Good tip, but they only work if you get them cut. Mine are still in the drawer, balnk, so I will swear, doubly, if I lock my keys in the boot.....

Depends which branch you pick!

my local cant do it either but the bigger shop in Glasgow can...

just a case of shopping round for a store that has the cutter i guess

Yep, they can definably be cut Paul, and just to put your mind at ease, when I messed up my replacement key, I took the chip out of my original key and put it into one of these, and have been using it ever since, without any trouble. Also, they aren't cheap metal, they are actually original BMW Mini cooper keys I have since found out!!

It doesn't have to be Timpsons, most key suppliers can cut them, maybe a local locksmith??

I've had one cut previously but they did a rubbish job (Not Timpsons).

I think Timpsons are saying what they do, because despite what some branches might tell you, they can't make a working key because copying the transponder is no use.
