I have a mark 1 saloon 2.5 v6 Connoisseur car on a O2 reg

It is fitted with an internal electrical release and external boot key lock

The electrical internal release is not working, and the key just turns in the lock

Does anyone have any ideas how I can open the boot without damaging it?

I have tried disconnecting battery to reset does not solve problem

the key turning is a common lock failure i'm afraid. when you say the button release isn't working have you removed the panel the switch is on to make sure the wiring plug is connected to the switch?
If all else fails try a pm to Arctic on here to see if he will send you pictures of how to get in via the chrome trim
