BMW E46 rear suspension by Ed3

Just some light thoughts here over that it is said that the rear suspension of a Rover 75/ZT is from a BMW E46, and so whether we should modify Rover 75 rear arms to be that of the E46? In case they last longer because the E46 rear arms may look stronger? I paint my rear arms with black Hammerite and that made a rusty second hand pair (that cost me £50 for the pair) I had fitted in 2019 have lasted very well indeed. They still look very strong with no rust in sight.

i have a feeling they won't fit because if they did these would have been replaced by quite a few owners by now, something i doubt would have been missed i think, i could be wrong though.

I don't think that you are wrong Steve. I recall this being discussed on the OC and while the arms might look similar at first glance they were found to be different and not interchangeable in practice. :censored:

The suspension isn't directly lifted from an E46, no. It is based on the BMW Z axle design, yes. Remember E46 was RWD, R40 FWD.
