Is there a way to check if the auto dipping rear view mirror is working?

Cheers

Hi Mike,
If you cover the sensor on the front of the mirror with your thumb, then shine a torch at the mirror side, it should darken. :D

You probably know this but it is a dimming mirror, it does not dip
If at first you don't succeed, hide the evidence.

I did once have a sample of an auto dipping mirror. The zzz zzz noise every time it moved was a trifle irritating.......

I have seen auto dipping door mirrors that dip towards the road when reverse is selected

Yes, my Skoda does that. Very useful for seeing the edge of the drive or edges of parking spaces.

Would be nice on the tourer programmed to the key, whenever I get in after SWMBO has been using it, all I can see is the ground and the rear headrests. When I know she is going to use it next I tilt the mirrors up, and move the seat back and recline it...See how she likes it , and she does not know how to set the memory buttons  .

It was something we looked at implementing with the Ultimate Remote, but we haven't figured out a reliable way of getting mirror position feedback.

Auto positioning would have been very nice with memory seats.
