1964 Rover 2000 "Original all round" by carlpenn

Note for Mods: I was given permission to include Number Plates on Posted Pics :)

This is the Rover 2000 owned by a colleague of mine at Work. It is all original, with the obvious exception of wear parts / service parts.

The Interior trim is all original, with the only exception being that a previous owner thought it was a good idea to paint the dash black???

It also appeared on teh cover of the 1998 Haynes / Rac Classic Car Rally book ( I think I got that right I cannot remember if that is the title, but he is lending me the copy to scan for you all).

Anyway, enough waffling from me, here is the Piccies:

I like the colour, all down to personal taste but I think it suits the car very well.

P6 production started in October 1963 (yes, I know you all knew that ;) ) so that on a '64 'B' plate is a relatively early example and quite lovely.

Glad you all like it :D I am sure my Colleague will be happy too :)

Just thought I would add another thing, When you Close the Doors, they make a beautiful "Clunk" very similar to the 75, I found that after 48 Years, this was an impressive little sidenote :D Not one of the Doors dropped when opened, they opened and closed in perfect alignment :)

Mmm, very nice. Big soft spot for the P6s.

If anyone is in to P6s I have the notes from the development meetings that I will scan (when I get a new scanner) and send to whoever is interested.

That apart Mrs Lincoln, did you enjoy the play

Oh so happy memories remembered. I traded my mk2 Jag for a C reg 2000SC, the love affair started and it was followed by a 2000TC, 2200TC and finally a 3500.

Almost the full set then!

Sounds like my dad, who started with 2000SC also, then moved to a 2200 SC, then 2200TC, and then another which I think was a 2200SC... After that he had a 3500 SD1, then a 2600 SD1, 2600 SD1 Vanden Plas, Rover 800 hatch, Rover 827 saloon, Rover 25 (he hated this!) and ended up with a Rover 45! Eleven in all, and with the two I have had (827 hatch and current 75 Tourer), thirteen in the family! :)
