Hi guys
Temp gauge not working done diag test number 2.0 all gauges go round ok except temp gauge.Temp gauge is getting power as red light comes on at start.
Any help or ideas greatly appreciated

Sounds like a instrument panel failure, try on board diagnostics test 7.0 that will give you the digital temp readout in the IPK (Instrument pack (IPK from the German)).

done that it did give the temp but why is gauge not working

sounds like the gauge is broken then

The fact the IPK gave a temp readout shows the rest of the system is working, not sure if the gauge itself is changeable as a stand alone part or it is a replacement IPK reqd .

If it's the motor that activates the gauge that's failed, it can be replaced with a bit of soldering. But if it's something electronic that's failed, it probably means a new IPK and a T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System) session to pair it to the car.

Either a T4 session or swap the eprom chip over seemingly

The motor is right behind the needle. The IPK is quite fiddly to dismantle, but it can be done.

Yes, if it's the motor it should be straightwforward. It might even just be a duff soldered joint of the motor onto the board. It could be the drive chip as well.

The needles pull off, and take care when replacing them that they point to zero when the instrument pack resets. If you don't your speedo could be out and that's not helpful.
