Today I've taken a picture ...

And this isn't the top mileage I've seen so far. It's just good enough for number 3 (BTW mine isn't in the top 10).

Planning is an unnatural process, much better to just get on with things, that way failure comes as a complete surprise instead of being preceeded by a period of worry and doubt

I can't remember the exact value, but the first digit has been a 7 (yep, seven) and the second one 5 or more, which equals about 450,000 miles or even more. The mileage is genuine, as a friend of mine is involved in the maintenance. I'll try to take a picture next time ...

As requested by Rob, ;)
I went the extra mile to collect data about the top mileage car.

And I've to admit that I was wrong!
The second digit is just a 4, the current mileage is 741 580 km equaling 460 796 miles.

BTW it isn't that cold over here ...

This Rover is a 2004 model year Tourer with a Diesel engine and manual transmission built on 5 November 2003. It's a reliable workhorse these days, alas it looks a bit battered.

I guess it's time for an update, isn't it? So here we go ...

It won't be long now and we'll see what happens when 6 digits are no longer sufficient. :panic:

That's amazing Jürgen, thanks for posting, Mike Noc , a member over on the OC has a 75 with 404,000 miles on and that's the biggest mileage I have seen, my own car has now done almost 196,000 and I have just had to change the original clutch !!

Well, there are some cars with an impressive mileage out there on the roads indeed.
And nearly 200,000 miles before the clutch has been due, Rob, that's impressive, too.
Mine is at about 198,500 miles now (and the other one will reach 50,000 soon).

I went a long way to take that picture. So maybe I ended up in Arizona. Who knows?

It's -30° with an open circuit, isn't it? So I guess a short circuit should give a reading at the other end of the scale, assumed the range is from -30° to +50°C.
