Filled up the washer bottle today..........then it leaked out under the engine tray. :( ............Then it stopped. :D .......and it hasn't shown up as being empty on the ipk.....so......is it broke? Or do I just need to not put much water in it? :?

Has one of the pipes come adrift? I might be making it up but do each set of jets (ie windscreen, headlamp, rear window) have it's own hose attached to the bottle?

Another answer:
Is the bottle cracked somewhere or perhaps (most likely) the filler tube has come out?

My bet is the filler tube.....assuming it can come out....oh well, no time to take the undertray / bumper off for a few days at least so I will just have to either a) use my wash wipe a fair bit to reduce the level or b) go slowly round corners so as not to slosh it out........ :?

That'll be a) then...

Washer bottle on the V8 is a one piece item, and very hard to find spares

Bumper off job to get at

I've heard the 1.8T is similar

Once I've unpacked from the move I'll take a look at my spare to see if I can see any likely failure points

Just to clear this up for everyone Carl, is this for the V8 or the ZT-T?

I personally reckon that the pump has come loose, as happened with mine, and that the fluid is coming out around there.

Here is a pic of mine before repair. It was twisted through about 30 degrees.

I could not find a new one so I had it repaired.

Excuse photo quality, I had only my phone with me.

The filler neck is detachable but I doubt that's your problem. The pump seals are a bit airy-fairy though.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

Er, no! It's one of ours, nothing to do with the Mustang.

Oh my good gawd! that is soooo embarrassing innit.. :o :em: .

I think we should ban all V8's from future meetings in order to keep the awfull thing from being seen in public eh..... :em: :em:

The very least we can do is make sure any V8's that are around keep their bonnets firmly shut!!

I've not seen anything that badly misshapen since granny caught her tits in the mangle!

Don't worry James, you cannot see even a tiny part of it without taking the bumper off. ;)

Think that's similar to one of the 1.8 marques.
May well have one of them..........if in no hurry. :em: :gmc:

It's the 1.8T that is similar to V8 from memory Zeb.

What's the capacity of that washer bottle? Looks like a well thought design to me, using every space available.

Pretty certain it is the same as the 1.8T AUTO ;)

The washer bottle is moved to the other wing on the 1.8t auto ( passenger side) due to the prescence of a cooling fan for the 1.8 auto gearbox fluid. It lives in the drivers side wheel arch.

( not a lot of people know that :D)

And here is the rare second cooling fan from the 1.8T Auto

Now the seller may also have the water bottle Zeb ;) ,

God I'm good :D :D :D
