'Dodgy' adverts on the site? by Duncan

I know that we have adverts on the site at the top and bottom. But I've just seen something concerning. An advert alleging to show that I've been unfriended by people on Facebook and offering to show me who. Now to be honest I don' give a FF if people have, but ads like this are usually targeted at insecure teenagers who click on the link and end up with some kind of malware or worse. Have we been hacked?

Not seen anything like this. The ads are directly injected by Google. Can you get me a screenshot?

Thanks Dave. With the link info I can block that ad. I'll report back what it's about.

The software advertised is, among many others, a tool for managing all your friends on various social media in one place. This bona fide software, is a genuine paid Google ad. However, IMHO the use of such software would possibly leave the user open to abuse. The ad has been blocked from the Google ads feed.

Thanks for letting me know, and giving me the link.

Thanks Mick. The software maybe legit, the advert is lying to get clicks.

Exactly. "Clickbait" is the correct term. :( Please let me know if any more appear. They will get the same treatment.

Thanks guys.

That's always been around. Some people may want red diesel or kerosene for home heating. Don't be getting paranoid now. :D :D
