Pektron Trafficmaster Alert ECU - useless junk? by Bolin

Bolin
I've acquired a Pektron Trafficmaster Alert ECU (Engine Control Unit) with a job lot of spares - surely these are no use now the system no longer operates, correct? Yet Rimmers still sell them brand new for £90 and there are s/h ones on eBay??

I think it's useless and should be recycled as WEEE, or am I missing something?

Yes, the system that they used has been switched off. Back in 2012 I seem to remember. I remember driving down the M6 South and noticed when I got so far down TM just stopped working. And there were the vans on the hard shoulder switching the equipent off. The only thing the box will do now is display the trafficmaster startup logo on a highline IPK (Instrument pack (IPK from the German)). Not even heavy enough to use as a doorstop.

Thanks guys - off for WEEE recycling then!

Do wonder what Rimmers will do with their stock of 2 units though, I don't think they'll sell
