A felt tip mark is a good idea but shouldn't be needed. Once the bolt is out theres a line on the top of the column, and a centre punch kind of dot on the wheel (or the other way around) that help you get it right,

For anyone else doing this, it's critical not to allow the spiral cassete also known as rotary coupler, clockspring or whatever you know it as, to turn while the wheel is off. OK, a few degrees is OK but a full turn out will end up breaking the flexible wire tape inside it.

OTOH I'd love a walnut and sandstone wheel for the V6 but the prices are plain mental! He has a nice new all leather wheel courtesy of Les.
