Today I traded my Rover in for a Volvo XC60 as I've been struggling getting in and out of Rover. Got a good trade in for it so happy with that, hope they will keep it on the road. Getting in and out of the Volvo is much easier now. I will still attend the Nano's as I enjoy them very much and have made some very good friends over the years. Shame age catches up with us.

A number of owners have moved on to other cars for the same reason and I suspect that more than a few will have been swapped out after failing a cost-benefit analysis. Best wishes with your replacement.

Sad to hear that David, I hope your XC60 will serve you as well as the Rover has done.

BTW good choice. :)

Hi Dave.
One of the reasons i sold my tourer and bought a Freelander 2 diesel, the petrol engine of the XC60 i think as the same engine as the petrol Freelander 2

Hope the XC60 works out good for you, solid cars, depending on what year you have, they can have manifold problems and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) problems if not given a good run at least once a week.

Cheers Steve, it's a diesel 2.4ltr 5 cylinder and I intend to give it a good Italian tune up every week.

I did similar but got a Volvo V60, for me it was the right time to move on from my Rover 75. Two Morris Minors and a MGB keep me busy enough.
Modern Volvos are not as good as they were, like many modern cars, too many silly electrical problems, and need specific computer requirements to read codes properly. For servicing I use an independent Volvo Specialist for servicing. I've already spent too much money on it in the 4 years I've owned it.

The 5 cylinder engine is almost indestructible but it does no harm giving it a good run if you only do short runs, also best not too use supermarket fuel, I'm convinced my 5 cylinder 2.0 litre diesel runs better on branded fuel. The 2.4ltr 5 cylinder is not the most frugal of engines but is reliable with none of the later Volvo oil burning problems and you do have that nice 5 cylinder growl.

Yes, it growls like the V6, just getting used to it now. After the 2 ltr petrol Rover, not too concerned about mpg so long as its high 20' (or more). Road tax is also less £315 versus £365,but no doubt will go up every year due to thieving chancellors.
I always use Shell fuel.
