I was wondering whether there would be any interest in a module which would provide the facility for powerfold mirrors to automatically extend and retract with the lock / unlock button on the OEM keyfob which DID NOT REQUIRE a modified powerfold enabled switchpack.

This would get round the problem that powerfold mirrors are quite readily available but OEM powerfold enabled switchpacks are not.

It would be possible to include a manually operated switch as well, which could be placed in a hidden location if required.

I envisage a small module which could be fitted and wholly wired within the driver's door using either an OEM powerfold loom or the powerfold loom which I manufacture.

Just wondering.

I think that would be a good idea, also it would come in handy for people that have a switch pack that's faulty.
I still need to fit my powerfold mirrors and one of your mods :)

Yes please!
As you may remember, inertia (read laziness) has prevented me from doing this myself. :em:
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

OK,

I've done the design. I'll ask Chris to produce the modules when I go back to work.

Nice one Paul.

If you could find a way of amplifying the transponder pick up ring's range, you'd be able to do a nice keyless start and keep the car keys in your pocket/bag.

Here is the news...

The first prototype module has been produced and I would like a guinea-pig car to try it on please.

Bernard? Are you interested?

Tester gets the module free of charge of course :)

As in my PM - I like the sound of 'free'! But I am quite happy to pay for it even as a guinea pig. (Assuming that it works, of course.) ;)

It works :D

Thanks to Bernard's help and comments, I can now say that the auto powerfolds (non OEM switchpack) mod is now in production.

I've re-arranged things so that it has an ignition sensing inhibitor so it CAN (Bus Controller Area Network) be used on cars with speed-locking enabled :D

Details should be on Think Tank website soon but Chris can be contacted by phone if you are in a rush :)
