I always thought a new IPK (Instrument pack (IPK from the German)) or virginised IPK once fitted to the car and programmed by T4 (Testbook version 4.Computer Diagnostic System) takes the original miles from the EWS3 immobiliser module, and other places.

Duncan maybe able to add to this if he sees it.

Hi Royden. Re Brian he is a member here and does appear to be still helping in the wider community though not as visible as he once was. In addition to Duncan as mentioned by Steve many members who have helped on the OC with this type of query are also members here. Brian I suspect might be best contacting via the email option in his profile: Link

Hello. Are there two threads running on this? I thought I'd replied earlier. Anyhow, yes a new or virginised IPK will be reprogrammed with the original car information by a T4 (or probably other alternatives). The T4 does it automatically when it detects the new IPK. It has to be done very soon after fitting the new IPK, otherwise after a few miles, it's no longer treated as a new IPK. Virginising a used IPK can be done in a number of ways, but I've only ever done it by physically replacing the EEPROM with a correctly preprogrammed one. Petrol and diesel require different EEPROMs.

hello duncan
do you know where i can have the ipk Virginising and lcd screen replaced the price of a new ipk is £800 to £900
if it is not possible then the only way would be a new ipk without trip is the mileage stored in the ews ecu

Hi. Sorry I don't know if anyone still does the LCD screens. I've never done them. It does look like MGRovercustomcarparts.co.uk might still be able to do them, you would need to contact them to find out. I know nothing about them so don't take this as a reccomendation or otherwise.
The mileage is stored in a couple of places, the most important is the light switch.
I can virginise highline MPH diesel and petrol IPKs (replacing the EEPROM) but that's no help to you, unless you can find a used IPK with a good screen, and I doubt you will.

I wouldn't charge, but would have to cover postage if you aren't local. Where are you based? I'm near Stafford.

PM replied to. I have the EEPROMS already programmed, I just had to dig through stuff to find them.
