MIL won't go off. by Bernard

I've had a misfire which brought on the lamp and I read off the code for this and fixed the problem.

However, on clearing the fault code, I'm left with the MIL still on. :confused:

A scan is showing no faults stored and anyway it did not behave as if the fault was still there as usually in this case the lamp at least goes off for a few seconds while it thinks about it.

I'm using a pretty good reader, an OMITEC so I don't think that there is any problem with that.

I'm a little baffled. :confused:
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

MIL=Malfunction Indicator Lamp.

Odd one, though, no faults but lamp still on.

It's worth checking the gearbox for fault codes too. On some newer cars the gearbox can bring on the MIL even when they have detected an engine ault and it's been cleared.

I had been ruminating whether the Omitech Land Rover gearbox software would talk to the 75 as the Freelander is essentially the same setup, when the MIL turned itself off a couple of miles down the road.

Being the idle so-and-so that I am, I haven't bothered to try if it will read or not. :em:

I have got to get out of idle mode, I guess the next nano might do it. ;)
