Just for those of you who remembered that Majed has been working in Cairo for the last year.

Today I sent him a text to make sure he was keeping safe due to the troubled times there having out there, Majed has texted me back to say that he is fine and has been staying home as his office in the troubled zone, his company will be flying him home to France on the 2nd of February until things have calmed down in Cairo.

I’m sure we all wish Majed as safe trip home.

PS.... Glad his 75 is at home in France :hail:

Must admit that he was the first I thought of when I saw the troubles.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

Safe journey my friend.
Between the airport strikes, snowed in Britan and civil unrest in Eygpt I was quite lucky to visit Ciaro and Luxor without incident

Hello everyone,
Thanks all of you for your concern and especially Andy for his messages. When troubles started last week, mobile phones networks and the Internet were cut. Last Saturday, mobile phones were available partially working in some areas. Only foreign SIM cards could send texts and receive them while local numbers could not... This was when I could send some news to my family (who were without news from me for 5 days!) and texts to/from Andy. Yesterday, we (all foreigners from my company) were flown to Paris on a "normal" Air France flight. Also we had some trouble at the airport at first as we were told our reservations were cancelled  but then we managed to have our places back and a safe trip to Paris.
I hope things do calm down and that they get back to a normal life soon in Egypt.
Thanks again for your support, all the best
Majed

Good to hear yourself and many others have got out of Egypt okay. It sounds from the news tonight as if the troubles have escalated in the last 24 hours :(

Another plane has been hired by UK Government to get more Brits out now at the normal ticket price so not to undercut commercial companies flying out.
