KV6 Dipstick Tube Connector by Essex Hatter

Essex Hatter
Hi there. I am hoping someone may be able to shed some light on an issue I am having trying to replace the dipstick tube connector on my 2004 ZT with KV6 engine.
Rimmers list only one part number for the item, ( part number LYC 100510) which I purchased but was not suitable as the hole in the collar is not large enough for the tube to pass through. DMGRS stock the same part number, but mention a change to this part in 2004. They have told me there was no information from Rover regarding the change.
I looked at replacing both the tube and the connector, but a new dipstick tube for the KV6 is £300+ while those for some of the other engines which were also used in the Freelander can be purchased for just £30+( How that can be warranted I will never understand)
I am hoping that someone on here may have come across this issue before and may be able to point me in the right direction for the correct connector?
Many thanks

Ok so is it not the same connector that is in the top of the engine manifold etc, black insert with a red collar which is depressed.

Hi. I don't have access to the car right now, but from memory it does have a red collar so is not the one in the bottom picture. I have tried LYC 100510 which is listed as the Dipstick Tube Connector, also LZN 100220 which is listed as an Inlet Manifold press In and which I believe is probably the right hand connector in your top picture. I am unsure about the left hand connector in this picture, which does look larger diameter than either of the above. Would you know the part number for that one?

Hold on, am I being stupid here? I have just had another look at some pictures of the connectors. Is the left hand connector in your top photo LYC 100510 after all? Is it supplied with a black bung/adapter inserted into the red collar, which needs to be removed when fitted? I offered this up to the dipstick tube with the black part still inserted and the hole in that was not large enough to accommodate the tube, when I should have removed it?

Thanks Arctic. I was being a bit dense. That was the right one. When I removed the piece from the end my dipstick fitted perfectly. Note to myself, fully remove items from the packaging and check properly before discounting them in future.
