Yep.
Before I joined the RAF I worked with a commercial lanscaping company. One of the jobs was stone picking.
For example, you prepare a sportsfield, of a size to contain say, four football pitches. Before you seed it, you walk the whole area picking up stones bigger than the size of a pea. Back-breaking and mind numbingly boring.
