Fitting a s/h towbar from tourer on a saloon by Ed3

Just checking which major parts do I leave off when fitting the towbar? The towbar seems to replace the large horizontal support bar? But do I assume the two very large polystyrene padding sections are also left off the car?

At the centre of the rear of the car (and only seen with the bumper off) there is a plastic or polythene plug that needs a hole made in it to push the wiring through. But it has gone all hard and may damage the wiring with vibration and use and so I was wondering what people use? And whether a grommet and seal it afterwards?

The wiring should have a replacement grommet with it.

Link below may help when sorting out the wiring ?

This would of helped but as we all know now unless you pay £10.00 to the OC you can not read the how to.

Thanks Steve, I am not a part of what some may call the Rover meets networks (apart from the one Saturday fix the car Nano) but when travelling the UK and picking up ebay Rover bits I have met very most decent people who are or were keen Rover owners and they told me of shockingly unreasonable behaviour towards them, where on principle I cannot allow myself to pay to support such goings on.
