Chrome Questions by rga1983

I have a couple of questions related to the chrome covered plastic parts on my 75:

1. Has anyone had any success in getting any items re-chromed? The chrome is starting to lift/peel on one of the interior door handle surrounds and on the front grille.
2. Is there an product that can take surface scratches out of the chrome-covered plastic?

Thanks in advance.

You might be better off getting replacement parts for those. They don't tend to peel so should be plenty around. Pretty sure I have a Grille for example.

There was a chrome spray that a member tried which was great...... Until they tried to cover it in laquer to protect it which totally destroyed the finish. as said, better off to find replacement parts for now.

Thanks for the replies. I've been struggling to find grilles in good condition, I've got two in the garage that are broken in someway.

Don't know where you're based but this seems a bit of a bargain for indicators front spots and grill

That does seem cheap, I'm in south Lincolnshire though so I bit too far away.

No I haven't, I think he's in the Lincolnshire Rover Owners Club so I'll have to look him up, thanks for the suggestion :)
