I think you may have hit the nail on the head, Duncan.

PSCAN read '75/ZT Front belt tensioners in series'.

Historically the drivers seat had been the cause of a problem, so there is probably a duff connection under the seat.

The airbag is now out. The problem was with the passenger pretensioner. I had replaced the front seats with the earlier ones with the piping. MGR had at sometime changed the connectors from the pretensioner to the wiring harness. My connectors, as a result of changing the seats, did not fit. I replaced the connector on the pretensioner and the warning light now extinguishes after the self test when the ignition is turned on.
