D-Day photos, then and now by Dave

This is quite nicely done, with the ability to change the photos "interactively".....

The Omaha Beach one (third photo) is an eye opener. We've all seen photos of the landings before and know how many vessels etc were involved, but to see what the place would have looked like before (and now) is something else....

All tranquil now - you can imagine what was going through the minds of all those involved.

When we travelled down through France earlier this year we visited Oradour Sur Glane (see wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oradour-sur-Glane ) - a village exactly as it was left at the end of the war. An emotional experience.

Oradour Sur Glane is just to the north of Limoges.
