Does anybody know how you detach the wiring on the boot lid if you want to remove and replace the existing panel?

What panel are you talking about, presumably the one that is for the number plate lights and sits underneath the boot plinth ?

If so remove the inner boot lid carpet and look at the top of the inner boot lid and you will see the 2 connectors

i was talking about the whole boot lid - yes that's the part that the boot plinth and the number plate are attached to.

Ok so when you say the boot lid carpet, do you mean the side trim inside the boot itself at the back towards the rear, or do you mean the trim on the inside of the boot lid itself, covering up the locking mechanism etc?
