I would have thought that your NAS has an option for allowing remote access to it. The few I've played with (mostly Seagate Business NAS units) have the option of remotely connecting to it allowing uploading & downloading of files.

I've got a Windows Server 2012 box at home, so can just web link straight into that, so can't really offer any other help, sorry.

Thanks Richard. I had heard that the QNAP software was a bit dodgy so thought I'd see if anything third party was recommended.

Another possible option would be set up a DMZ on the modem, and link that directly to your NAS. The problem with that could be security, but if you have users & passwords set up on the NAS, it might be secure enough??
