Any tips on removing silicone sealant from the metalwork - the real light seals have been siliconed in on mine and I need to clean it all off before fitting new seals - part of my attempts to stop boot filling with water

Silicon sealant remover Colin. No, I'm not being facetious, you take as much off as you can by hand then use the remover liquid on a cloth. Takes a bit of elbow but has always worked well for me. I imagine you'll find it on fleabay somewhere.

Try WD-40 and some elbow grease,

Just be careful if using any solvents that is wont damage the paint.

I used a cheap plastic ruler to take it off. The plastic didn't damage the paint at all.
