Err, who cares? It would be worth every penny surely?

(Sorry, only jealous that you are in a position to even think about it?)

Believe as long as you didn't buy one registered on an 06 plate or newer- you're talking £245 a year, so the same as any KV6 I believe

Think they announced a cap on it yesterday.

As I understand it, the wording on the direct.gov website that did hint that the price of VED for vehicles that produce over 225g/km but were registered pre 2006 has now changed so that the 01-06 band of 225g/km cars will not be tarred with the same brush as those post 06.

What's the VED for a 1.8 at the mo?

Think I paid about £200 for my 1.8 non turbo - my 1963 Humber Sceptre (when it's on the road) is FREE :D My 1974 Spitfire missed the cut-off for free tax by a few months :(

You probably know this, but maybe worth saying anyway.

The cutoff date is by date of manufacture, rather than registration. If the car was registered in 74, but made a little earlier before the cutoff, it's actually still eligable. I know of a number of Moggy owners having this as a pleasant surprise.

That is correct - and my car was screwed together a few months after the deadline :(
