Checking Air Con Condenser 'size' is the correct part by Ed3

Ed3
Regards the Aircon Condenser Autodoc seems to be one of the cheaper at £59 new delivered. But the sizes offered seem to differ? How would we know which part is correct?

Is the next Nano able to de-gas to fit? Or should I de-gas asap and start to fit?

Hi Ed.
Seems that would fit original code is (JRB000140) google that and it brings up quite a few.

You can remove the gas if you have any in which i doubt by the state of your condenser, easy to find out remove the caps a press in quick to see if any comes out but only quick, as you do not want let all the gas out if you have any in, it as to be evacuated correctly so im told.

Thanks Steve, Very helpful. I have pressed both valves with a key and all seems 100% empty. So I am free to try fixing.

Don't forget to fit new O rings at the same time. DMGRS are out of stock of condensers, but it might be worth contacting them to see when they are likely to have some more.

HI Ed.
If no gas was released then in theory yes, you could go ahead and replace the condenser, as above replace the tow O-rings to the condenser, i think i may have some, also remember that the silver resistor need changing for the fan to work.

I think we went through this earlier in the year.

Thanks Steve, From reading on the web, I may look for discolouring on air con system pipe joints and if found use new O rings

We are only really talking about the two O rings on the two connections to the condensor. In replacing the condensor you will have to disconnect the two pipes, and the relevant O rings may well not seal well. For the pennies of cost replace them while you are 'in there'.

Hi Duncan.
Ed will most certainly need a new condenser, it was completely shot when i checked it and as you rightly new O-rings for the condenser joints is a must in mu opinion too.

Therefore Ed please hear what we are saying if you do go ahead and change the condenser yourself at home and not at the next Nano meet, if you want me to send you a gold resistor let me know if you feel you can do the job from the how to cheers Arctic.

Thanks Steve, It has just past it's MOT so I suppose I need to change the coolant (same since I bought it 8 years ago) and engine oil next and after that I can get back to the air con and fan.
