Which HG Gasket Kits for 2.0l V6 by carlpenn

carlpenn
Rather depressingly, I think one (or Both) of my Head Gaskets are about to fail.

Long story short, I have been losing water, not lots, but enough to notice, followed by a wierd stuttery start up where teh car will stutter for a few seconds when first fired up, then today I noticed a gurgle coming from engine bay on start up too, followed by the discovery of what looks like an oil slick in my header tank :hissyfit:

So, who or what or where will I get the best kits and, for a semi competent diy mechanic like me, is it wise to undertake this or should I get professional help ? (That last bits open to debate on so many levels !! )

On the bright side, my Remote Keys have started working again

Cheers Mick lol.

I found my Haynes Manual last night, forgot I had that

Concerned about having to mess with timing belt, so may get a Garage to do it.

It is very odd, as there is no Mayo on the Oil Filler cap or Dipstick, but definately evidence of an oily substance in the header tank.

Was supposed to be replacing the Back Box this month, looks like money is having to go elsewhere yet again :(

It might be worth putting a sniffer in the hole to check for HCs.
I don't like signatures, they take up too much screen space.

Works like the device they stuff up the exhaust pipe for the MOT and will detect hydrocarbons in the coolant. I used to use the SUN device when I had it.
Also there is some fluid detector which I can't remember the name of.
