Rover 75 2.5 Removing Crankshaft Timing Gear by kew

kew
I’m doing the Cam Belts and seals on my newly acquired Rover 75 V6.
In order to replace the crankshaft oil seal, I have removed the crankshaft pulley leaving the timing gear exposed.

How does one remove the the timing gear? Both Haynes and the workshop manual seem to indicate it just comes off after removal of the pulley.

Thanks...

This was a difficult one. The advise was to use a puller and if necessary apply some heat. As the seal wasn't leaking, I decided to leave well enough alone.

. Replacing the belts and Cam seals is a big job, would have been nice to do the crankshaft seals.
