well...we already lost the vulcan, the concorde, the harrier, the nimrod, the ark royal,sad as it is, it seems inevitable that some penny counting slap happy safety do gooder will stop these wonderful aircraft and heroic pilots from flying...but of course I hope not.

Let's hope this wasn't a failure due to cutbacks. It's hard to imagine a pilot of this calibre accidentally ejecting. pilots that do that don't usually progress beyond the initial stages of training.

They have 0-0 seats so that sort of ejection should be survivable. Ergo, it was probably an equipment failure.

My sister had to photograph the results of a trainee ground ejection. It could have been survivable if he'd been outside the hangar.
