Hi Phil

I have an iPhone 4 (as you know) and I've never been asked for a password the whole time I've had it!

When is it asking for one mate?

I don't think they have a default password, it has to to be set ny the user?
Maybe if you take it to an Apple store they may be able to reset it?

I am still on the 3GS and put on a simple password which works perfectly well.

SWBO bought an iPhone 4 last year in za from a Vodafone shop, one that had been returned by a customer who had hardly used it. She picked it up cheap.

When SWMBO saw how mine had a password on it, she thought it was a lovely idea and wanted the same.

When we tried to set it up, the system asked for the old password and that is where we got stuck. Her files are saved in the icloud but she does not want to be blocked out if it all goes wrong on the phone.
All the best
