Blown Diesel Autobox - alternative?? by pob06

One for the technical experts.....

This might be a dumb question but I seem to remember that the freelander td engine is the same.

Woudl it be possible to replace a blown 2001 Rover 75 Diesel gearbox with an autobox from a freelander??. A simple swap?, any particular model? What about the control boxes/ecu??

Any advice would be helpful.

Cheers guys

As far as I know the gear ratios are completely different so you won't have any joy there I'm afraid.
I am sure someone will be along shortly with recommendations or corrections.

See here for boxes: http://www.idealengines.co.uk/rover-75d ... -31404.htm Nothing to do with me.

I still love this marque and I will still be around, preferred selling to breaking, as a great runner and performer"
